Dress Size Guide

Finding the right fit is essential — especially when you're hiring a dress. At Everything Lace Hire e want you to feel confident and beautiful in your chosen piece. Use this guide to find your size before booking, and don't hesitate to reach out if you're unsure.

📏 How to Measure Yourself

Grab a soft measuring tape and measure over your underwear (not over clothing). Stand naturally and breathe normally.

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the ground.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above your belly button.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, usually about 20cm below your waist.
  • Height: Measure barefoot, standing straight against a wall.

Tip: Ask a friend to help for the most accurate measurement!

Note: Some styles are labelled with a size range (e.g. '8–12AU') — these are designed to fit across that range with stretch or adjustable features.

📌 When to Size Up

  • If you fall between two sizes, size up for comfort, especially for structured styles.
  • If bust and hips differ from waist, go by the largest measurement.
  • For bodycon styles, your usual size is best.
  • For flowy or wrap styles, sizing down can work if you prefer a relaxed look.

Not sure which size or style is right for you? We offer a try-on service in studio or via postage so you can see how a dress feels before your event.

  • Contact us to arrange a try-on appointment in studio. Or select try-on tab and add to cart.
  • We recommend trying on at least 1–2 weeks before your event to allow time for any changes to your booking. Or earlier to ensure your favourite piece is locked in as some pieces hire out fast.

  • Step One

    Add your desired dress/dresses from our stunning collection of photoshoot dresses for your desired date.
    Select your dates and delivery method - Express Postage or Local Pick-Up

    Add a BACKUP dress to make your selection even easier

  • Step Two

    Receive the dress feel and look amazing. It's time to get excited for your photoshoot or special occasion.
    We aim to send out all dress hires early when possible before your dates

  • Step Three

    Return the dress via chosen method on the agreed date.
    For postage returns pop into the paid return satchel and drop off at your local post office counter.
    If pick-up return on agreed date to our studio.
    Don't forget to share you wearing our dresses with us

This enables you to see what dress suits you and your occasion best, whether you are looking for a stunning wedding dress, a maternity photoshoot dress or an extras special baby shower dress we have you covered.

Not local to Somerville no problem we can organise a postal try-on Australia wide which includes a fee. Under each item there is an option to select a Try-On option (*some pieces are not able to have a try-on due to popularity) which is a Monday or Tuesday ONLY and is posted directly to you. This fee will be deducted if you wish to proceed with hiring.
